Strawberries & Cream Toast

Perfect for a coquette picnic, this Strawberries & Cream Toast is mess-free and almost too adorable to eat. A wonderful dessert for all-year long, but especially spring and summer, this treat is rich, buttery, and just plain lovely.

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice of bread

  • 1-2 tbsp. cream cheese

  • strawberry jam

  • 1 tsp. matcha powder

  • 1 tsp. cocoa powder

  • toothpicks

  • ziploc bags

Instructions:

  1. Toast your slice of bread to your desired level of toasty-ness.

  2. Spread an even layer of cream cheese on your toast.

  3. Spoon out 4-5 dollops of strawberry jam in circles around your bread. Use a toothpick to gently shape them into a strawberry-esque upside down triangle.

  4. On a seperate plate, scoop out two spoonfuls of cream cheese. On one, add your cocoa powder. On the other, add your matcha powder. Mix up both to create colored “frosting.”

  5. Scoop your “frosting” mixtures into two separate plastic food bags, squeezing them into one corner of the bag. Cut a small tip off of the corner—now you have DIY piping bags!

  6. Use the matcha “frosting” to add green stems on top of the strawberry jam, and use the cocoa “frosting” to add hearts, stars, or any other decoration around the empty spots of the toast.

  7. Voila! You’ve made Strawberries & Cream Toast!
